Kodihalli Swamiji predicts political instability, re-election : Karnataka Politics

Mangalore, Apr 18: “In the coming assembly election, none of the parties will be able to muster a majority in the state. Because of political instability, the chance of holding election again for getting a clear mandate from the voters is high,” is the prediction made by Sri Shivananda Rajendra Swamiji of Kodi Mutt, who is well known for his accurate predictions, and who is often approached by political leaders, who have faith in his accurate predictions.

The Swamiji was speaking to newspersons during his visit to the residence of J D Veerappa in Suratkal near here on Wednesday April 17. He stressed that none of the parties will be able to form a stable government in the state after the ensuing assembly election. “Egotism of the leaders of these political leaders will come in the way of striking an understanding between them. As such, chances of re-election appear bright,” he stated.

The Swamiji also expressed concern at the fact that voting as a democratic tool, has been losing relevance because of the fact that the people’s representatives have been misusing the power vested with them by the voters. “The fact that those who are fit to form the government are not gaining majority is regrettable. Those who are eligible to be rejected by the society get majority,” he noted. The Swamiji predicted that the future of the state during the next few years will be dim, but expressed the faith that the profession of politics will get back its lost respect and honour after 2020, once new generation rises to power.

When the press representatives expressed curiosity about the future of former chief minister Yeddyurappa, the Swamiji said that it is against his principles to predict the future of an individual. “I have never given my predictions about the future of an individual so far. Do you remember that I had earlier predicted that the BJP would be split into three factions because of internal squabbles?” he questioned.

He said that death and destruction in the state due to natural calamities, accidents, and bomb blasts will be more during the next one year, and that the people will face lot of problems because of natural disasters. He also stated that the tussle between people on the basis of castes, and the tendency of hating one caste by the other have the potential to disturb peace among the people
